ever since i moved back to Dallas almost 2 years ago, i am constantly impressed with how many great bands come through and i often have to be selective on which shows to go to in order to still afford groceries. a couple months back, granada theater in dallas announced that m83 would be coming to dallas. i hesitated to buy tickets and before i knew it – they were sold out! dang. but THEN granada, being so social media savvy and such, held a twitter contest for free tickets and i WON! man, do i love this industry or what…

so all that to say i was able to go to one of the two shows they played in dallas (because they are just nice like that – merci!) and it was completely, mind-blowing incredible. i had no idea how many intricate details are involved in every song and they went above and beyond. i am always so grateful to bands who sincerely give it their all even when you know they are bad-ass frenchies who probably play even bigger, crazier crowds in their home country. but i think dallas was a great crowd for them and i was so lucky to be a part of it. needless to say all the dancing gave me sore feet for a couple days. THANK YOU granada theater! i will be back for many more shows to come!!

to see some amazing photos other than my blurry instagram ones, visit granada’s flickr page.

and because i can never get enough, here’s a good m83 jam…
